The Kingdom Hearts Worlds We Should’ve Had
Throughout the Kingdom Hearts story Sora travels to many different worlds that are inspired by Disney and eventually Pixar movies. Each new installment has new worlds as well as returning worlds that offer a different version or location of the world. For example, the first time Sora goes to the Hercules inspired world he is in the coliseum. Returning back in different games will take you the underworld and Olympia city. There are some pretty amazing levels worlds that were designed for the game series and there has also been worlds that were quite upsetting. With the announcement of each new game fans and critics first thought is what new worlds will be added. This article will look at five worlds that should have been added already or should be added in future installments.
Moana
The main character Sora lives on Destiny island which is destroyed in Kingdom Hearts 1 but eventually is brought back in to existence. Destiny islands acts as the tutorial for the first game. Sora does not return to a beach themed in his journeys. I believe that a good world design would be Moana because the whole story of moana takes place on islands and oceans which is very similar to Sora’s home world. When Sora would arrive on the island he could think that he made it home. I think this world would be a great place for Sora to have flashbacks to his island. Moana and Sora have a lot in common and while completing this world Sora could help Moana set sail just like he wanted to do all those years ago.
Treasure Planet
In order to travel from world to another Sora, Donald and Goofy must use the gummi ship. This ship takes them through space fighting heartless and other enemies until reaching the world. In Kingdom Hearts while traveling to a world the Gummi ship is swallowed by Monstro which is how Sora gains access to the Pinocchio world. If there were to be a Treasure Planet world it would make the most sense to have encounter just like that. The Gummi ship could come across the space pirates and board there ship either as prisoners or allies. The whole world could take place on their ship while they take to the next world. Sora has had many encounters with pirates so he will fit right in with the crew.
Zootopia
One fan favorite feature in the Kingdom Hearts franchise is that some worlds change the characters design in order to fit into the culture of the world. When Sora visits Halloween or Christmas town his outfit changes. Sora has been transformed into many different versions of himself such as a toy version, animal version, and mermaid version. The world of Zootopia consists of many animals all living together in one big metropolitan. While landing on this world Sora could be transformed into an animal and teams up with Officer Judy Hopps to defeat the heartless that are attacking the city. This animal version of Sora would be different that Pride Lands Sora because the animals depicted in Zootopia are bipedal rather than running around all fours.
Jungle Cruise
Not every world that is inspired by Disney is an animated movie. There have been live action movies to have worlds in the series, these have been Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron. A cool concept of a world could be the Jungle Cruise. Sora visited the deep jungle in Kingdom Hearts and has not been to many jungle themed worlds since. Just small jungle areas in portions of the worlds. The Jungle book level was scrapped in Kingdom hearts Birth by Sleep but this list to look at new worlds.
Haunted Mansion
Continuing on with live action movie themed world the last idea for a new world is Haunted Mansion. Disney is releasing a new version of their Haunted Mansion film which could be used to help promote that film. There are many mansion in the Kingdom Hearts franchise but in those world the enemies take over the mansion. In this world that Mansion itself could be the enemies and Sora needs to go inside to save the house and defeat the ghosts. Each game has a spooky themed level, whether it is the Nightmare Before Christmas or Monster’s Inc. Haunted Mansion would be a great fit in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
