Detroit: Become Human
Are you a non-gamer looking to find a video game that will interest you? Most people who do not play video games have trouble finding a game for them. Finding the right game to introduce a non-gamer to can be hard but I believe that the title Detroit Become Human is the perfect game for non-gamers to sit back and play.
Detroit Become Human is a 2018 adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive. This game follows three different androids in the near future. Each character has their own story and the story changes depending on the choices you have made in the previously level. Each choice leads to a different outcome so everyone’s experience will be somewhat different.
Detroit become Human is a great game for beginners because the controllers are very simple to follow. Many non-gamers struggle when it comes to the controls because there is so much going on at once with most games. In this game the player must controller Connor, Kara and Markus through scenes that tell a great emotional story. The player must walk around looks for clues and make choices to make their experience exclusive to them. Each time a cutscene happens the player will be given time to complete the correct button sequence. These button sequence will usually be very simple, for example, pressing a specific button or rotating the joystick. The controls and camera angle are very user friendly and easy to understand.
Another reason that this is a great game for non-gamers to play is because a majority of the involves interactive cinematics. This game feels like you are watching a movie at some parts and then adds interactions to the scene. For example, in the first scene of the game they player controls an android named Connor. He is either a protagonist or antagonist depending on the choices that you make during the game. Connor’s job is to help the Detroit Police department deal with the Androids who become deviant. The player must make their way through the condo where they will find a deviant android. Throughout the level the camera will cut to cinematics, which will then allow the player to press buttons which reveal a different response. When the player interacts with the NPCs in the game there are usually four different types of responses that will branch out into different scenarios. The first scene ends with Connor trying to talk an android off the ledge who has taken a child hostage. Your only mission is too safe the girl, but the responses you can chose will either help talk the android down from the ledge or could end up much worse. Right from the beginning of the game the story will change depending on what happens in the first level. The Android could either die, come down from the ledge, the girl could die, or Connor could die, and the outcome will change the direction of the game. The responses to the decisions are based off of different types of players personal thinking. There is no one way nor is there one corrects way to play Detroit Become Human
Detroit Become Human is for the Sony PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. If you are a gamer trying to get you friend interested in video games or you are new yourself, I recommend this game for you.
