Tears of the Kingdom Sub-Bosses

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom adds many new sub bosses to the world of Hyrule.  Sub bosses are a very popular feature that has been in many of the Legend of Zelda titles.  Many times, these bosses appear in the temples or dungeons scattered throughout like the Poe Sisters in Ocarina of Time’s Forest Temple or the Demon Blade in Twilight Princess’s Coliseum.  However, in Tears of the Kingdom the Sub bosses lurk in particular places such as mountain tops, bridges, and sky islands, as well as in the depths.  Tears of the Kingdom features seven different sub boss types; the Flux Construct, Talus, Hinox, Molduga, Froxe, Lynel, and Gleeok but some of these enemies have different variations.

Flux Constructs

Flux Construct I

Flux Constructs consist of a single block of Zonai material.  This cube is both the brain and weak point to the construct.  It controls other large cubes and can reconfigure itself into a giant golem-like entity.  There are three variations of the Flux Constructs named Flux Construct I, II, and III.  The Flux Construct I has 360 HP and an Attack power of 20.  The Flux Construct II has 720 HP and an attack power of 40.  Finally, the Flux Construct III has 1,080 HP and an Attack power of 55.

Stone Talus

Igneo Talus

Talus may appear to be nothing more than an ordinary pile of rocks until they suddenly emerge from the ground and attack when you move close.  All variations throw giant rocks at Link as an attack. They have a gemstone on the top of them which marks their weak point.   There are six different variations of the Talus that are scattered throughout the game.  The Battle Talus has platforms and can carry around enemies to help them in battle.  These Talus’s along with the regular Stone Talus both have 380 HP and an attack of 24.  Luminous Stone Talus’s are made out of luminous stones and have 620 HP and an attack power of 48.  Rare Stone Talus’s are made up of rare ore deposits and have 1080 HP and an attack power of 60.  Finally, Igneo and Frost Talus both have 1000 HP and 60 Attack Power.  The Igneo Talus is made up of molten lava rock while the Frost Talus is made up of ice.

Hinox

Hinox

A Hinox is a fearsome creature. Though one could argue their wits are inversely proportional to their impressive physical strength.  The Hinox comes in four different variations.  The regular standard version of the Hinox comes with red skin.  This Red Hinox has 600 HP and attack power of 24.  The Blue Hinox has 800 HP and an attack of 48.  The Black Hinox has 1,000 HP and an attack power of 60.  Finally, the Skeleton Hinox called the Stalnox has 1,000 HP and an attack of 72.

Molduga

Molduga

Moldugas are giant worms that dwell beneath the sands in the desert.  They detect vibrations on the surfaces above to locate their prey.  The Molduga is the only Sub Boss that does not come in different variations.  The Molduga has an HP of 1,500 and an attack of 60.

Frox

Frox

A Depths-exclusive enemy is the Frox. This sub boss is a combination of many different sub bosses.  Like the Talus the Frox has a crystal deposit and similar to the Hinox, the Frox has one eye which represents its weak points.  Finally, the Frox attacks just like Molduga by diving towards and swallowing.  There are three variations of the Frox.  The standard Frox has 700 HP and an attack of 22.  The Obsidian Frox is black and has 2,100 HP with an attack of 58.  The Blue White Frox has 1,350 HP and an attack of 42.

Lynel

Silver Maned Lynel

The Lynel is one of the most powerful Sub Bosses in Tears of the Kingdom.  The higher the rank, the stronger and more resilient the Lynels will be.  The Lynes come equipped with a bow and arrow and an axe.  The lowest ranking Lynels have red manes.  These Lynels have 2,000 HH and attack of 33.  Next is the Blue-Maned Lynel who have 3,000 HP and an attack power of 49.  The White maned Lynel has 4,000 HP and an attack power of 74.  Finally, the Silver Lynel is the strongest sub boss in the game.  It has 5,000 Hp and an attack power of 90.

Gleeok

King Gleeok

The Gleeok makes its long-awaited return in Tears of the Kingdom.  The Gleeok is a three headed dragon that comes in four different variations: Flame, Thunder, Frost, and the King Gleeok.  The King Gleeok is a combination of all three of the elemental Gleeoks. Each of the Gleeok variations have 8,000 HP and an attack of 50.

Each of the sub bosses that have been previously mentioned except the Molduga all come in one final variations.  When the sub bosses appear in the depths their forms will be corrupted.  The corruption causes them to have malice all over them which inflicts damage to Link upon contact.
