Mario Kart 8’s Final DLC Announced

On September 14, 2023 Nintendo held their September Direct showcase.  During this event Nintendo showed off many new games that will be coming out soon.  During this event Nintendo announced the final wave of downloadable content coming to Mario Kart Deluxe.  Wave 6 of the Booster Course pass expansion pack will be available this holiday season as a paid DLC or will be available for Online Expansion Subscribers.

This final DLC will include the last two Grand Prix cups: the Acorn Cup and the Spiny Cup. Within these cups the courses will include the fan favorite course from Mario Kart Double Dash, “Daisy Circuit” as well as returning courses from other Mario Kart installments.  Daisy Circuit was the only course that was shown off but there is always potential for a brand-new course.  We have seen this before with other courses like “Yoshi’s Island” and “Squeaky-Clean Sprint.”

In addition to these eight new courses four new characters will be available.  Diddy Kong and Funky Kong make their returns to the Mario Kart franchise as well as Pauline and Peachette.  These characters will not feature any different color variations like Shy Guy, Yoshi, and Birdo, but they do have different stats which will impact the way each character plays.
