WrestleMania XL Predictions

WWE’s biggest Premium Live Event (PLE), WrestleMania is right around the corner. Live from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on Saturday April 6th and Sunday the 7th. WrestleMania XL will feature many superstars through its two night event. The PLE has 13 matches booked between the two nights, with the main events of each night being confirmed. Here we will predict each of the following matches on the WrestleMania match card.

Night 1

Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar & Dominik Mysterio

Last year at WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio defeated his son Dominik. This year Dirty Dom is back to get revenge on his father as he teams up with former LWO member, Santos Escobar. The two of them will face Rey and his tag team partner Dragon Lee. Lee is the newest member of the LWO and has much to prove. Expect to see a fast-paced match filled counters and high flying, as well as outside interference from Lagado Del Fantasma and the other LWO members. Our prediction of this match is that Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio defeat the LWO, with Escobar pinning his rival Mysterio.

Bianca Belair, Naomi & Jade Cargill vs. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka & Kairi Sane)

The only titles not to be on the line at WrestleMania XL is the Women’s Tag Team Titles. However, the champions will still be competing. Damage Control members Dakota Kai, and tag champs Asuka, and Kairi Sane will be facing Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Jade Cargill. With Charlotte Flair injuring her quad, this forced WWE creative to go in a different direction with Belair. This direction was placing her in a random tag team with friend Naomi. Damage Control always has the numbers advantage in matches but at WrestleMania the numbers will be even. Jade Cargill has joined forces alongside Naomi and Belair as she gets ready for her debut match. During this match, the team of Damage Control will get involved, preventing Cargill from tagging in the match. Damage Control will dominate a majority of the match until Cargill is able to finally tag in. After entering the ring Cargill will clean house on Damage Control taking them all out single handedly. Jade Cargill will get the pinfall over Kairi Sane establishing herself as a giant threat to the women’s division.

WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship: Six Pack Ladder Match The Judgment Day vs The Awesome Truth, A-Town Down Under, DIY, New Day, New Catch Republic

The biggest match when it comes to size itself is the six-pack ladder match for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. The Judgment Day (Damien Priest & Finn Balor) will be defending their titles against The Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth), DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomaso Champa), The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory), and the New Catch Republic (Pete Dune & Tyler Bate) This match is going to be filled with many crazy spots involving high flying from the top ladder, people going through ladders, and body colliding with bodies. This match is going to be so chaotic it will be hard keeping an eye on everything so expect to miss some cool spots. Each tag team deserves to walk away with the title at WrestleMania. The Awesome truth has been feuding with the Judgement Day in some tremendous segments on Raw, while DIY has continued bringing their NXT Tag style to the main roster. The catch Republic have been steamrolling over every tag team on the Smackdown the past few weeks. A-Town Down Under has been doing a great job as heels this past year but heels currently hold the titles so it would make more sense for a face team to win. The titles have been unified for well over a year and it is time that they split. This match would be the perfect opportunity for this to happen. Our prediction for the match is that two teams recover different titles spitting the tag titles. R-Truth will climb up to the top of the ladder and recover only the Raw Tag Team Titles while the New Catch Republic will recover the Smackdown titles. This gives R-Truth his WrestleMania moment, while giving a new tag team the win.

Jimmy vs Jey Uso

Brother Jimmy and Jey Uso will go to war at Wrestlemania XL. Here Jey Uso will finally get his hands on his twin brother Jimmy. After months of Jimmy screwing with Jey, the two brothers will meet face to face. Jimmy has costed Jey the Universal Title at SummerSlam, the United States Title on Smackdown, and the Intercontinental title on Raw. The two have been separated for some months but Jimmy keeps coming for his brother. They had one run in with each other at the Royal Rumble that set up where this feud was going and it has been brewing for a long time. This match should be a match of the weekend contender. The Uso’s put on an outstanding match last year with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and I believe that they can recapture that energy. The two brothers have great chemistry and will be able to tell a great story in the ring. Our prediction of the match is that Jey Uso will be victorious against his brother Jimmy. This victory could lead to match against Solo Sikoa down the line.

Intercontinental Championship: Gunther vs Sami Zayn

One of the biggest matches of the card is Gunther vs Sami Zayn. Gunther has held the Intercontinental title for a record breaking 660 days and Zayn looks to do the one thing no one else has done, defeat the Ring General. This match has had an interesting story but these two don’t need a good story to make the match interesting. Both men have put on match of the year contenders, whether it be Gunther vs Shemus or Zayn and Owens vs the Usos, which speaks enough about their history. Together both men should put on an instant classic. Zayn is the ultimate underdog who will never give up. Expect to see Zayn kick out of many near falls as he keeps fighting. This will not be enough to topple the Ring General however, so we are predicting Gunther retains his Intercontinental Championship. With the Bash at Berlin happening later this year it makes sense to keep the belt on him until that PLE.

Women’s World Heavyweight Championship: Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch

Rhea Ripley will be defending her Women’s World Heavyweight Championship against Becky Lynch in her biggest match of her title run. Ripley won the title at last years WrestleMania against Charlotte Flair in a match of the year contender. Since then Rhea has dominated the Women’s division and bulldozed through contented after contender. Ripley and Lynch should tare down the house, they have been separated for a majority of the year so when they do collide it is on the grandest stage of them all. Our prediction of the match is that Ripley retains over Lynch. Becky does not need to win the championship, it would definitely hinder Ripley and the Judgement Day if she loses the title.

Roman Reigns and the Rock vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

Wrestlemania XL’s night one main event is Roman Reigns and the Rock vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match. Reigns and the Rock added the stipulation that if they win the match on night one, then the main event on night two will be “bloodline rules”. This match will be setting the stage for night two and our prediction is that Reigns and The Rock will defeat Rhodes and Rollins. The bloodline will pull their typical shenanagins of interferences and ref bumps in order to win. Rhodes and Rollins need the loss on night one to make the main event of night two that much bigger.

Night 2

Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. The Final Testament (Karrion Kross & The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) : Philadelphia Street Fight

Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits have been having their issues with the Final Testament for months now, going back to before the Royal Rumble. Final the two teams collide in a Philadelphia Street Fight. This has all the potential to be an instant classic filled with many crazy spots, like Montez Ford jumping off a structure onto to the Authors of Pain. In addition to this it is possible for interferences from Scarlett as well as a potential save from B-Fab. Our prediction of the match is that Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits are victorious over the Final Testament with Bobby Lashley pinning Karrion Kross.

LA Knight vs AJ Styles

Fans were upset to see LA Knight compete for a title at WrestleMania. This quickly changed when it was announced that he would face AJ Styles at the show. This feud has been building since AJ Styles returned from injury late last year. Styles turned heel and went for the most over superstar on the roster. AJ Styles is one of the best overall wrestlers on the roster and hardly puts on a bad performance. The crowd will be so into this match that they might get burnt out by the main event. Our prediction of this match is LA Knight defeats AJ Styles in his first WrestleMania match. This win will be huge for Knight and could possibly lead to another title chance down the line.

United States Championship: Logan Paul vs Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton

Logan Paul will be defending his United States Championship in a triple threat match against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Logan Paul successfully walked away from the Royal Rumble against Kevin Owens with a DQ win, so Kevin Owens has some unfinished business with Paul. The two got their hands on each other at the Elimination Chamber but Paul was not defending the title. Also, in that same chamber Paul cost Randy Orton the match when he hit him with brass knuckles after Paul was already eliminated. Paul now has multiple people coming for him, but our prediction of the match is Logan Paul sneaks a victory over the two men retaining his title. A pin over Kevin Owens will end this feud and set up a feud with Orton in the process.

WWE Women’s Championship: Iyo Sky vs Baylee

Iyo Sky defends her Woman’s Championship against her former teacher Bayley. The two have had a falling out since Asuka and Kiari Sane joined Damage Control. Bayley successfully won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble which gave her a shot at either title. She chose Sky because she knew that Damage Control was planning to turn on her. This match has had a slow build ever since Sky cashed in her money in the bank briefcase on Bianca Belair at Summerslam. We knew the two would feud over the belt, but we did not expect it to be at WrestleMania. During this match expect to see much of Damage control getting involved in the match, with a possible save by Naomi and Belair. In the end we are predicting that Bayley walks out of WrestleMania as the new WWE Women’s Champion.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins vs Drew Mcintyre.

The second main event of night two is Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre has been on a tare since turning heel a few month back. He has continued to move this storyline along single handedly while Rollins has been building towards his tag match vs the Bloodline. This is not the first time we have seen these two competitors go toe to toe in the ring, which makes us ask what can they do to make this match different. The two have put on bangers in the past but at this point it seems repetitive. It is important to mention that CM was supposed to be in this match rather than McIntyre but he has been sidelined due to injury, so WWE Creative had little time to act on who will replace him. This match has potential to be an entertaining match but one that will probably not stand out among others on the card. Expect to see Drew target Seth’s lower back but Rollins keep fighting like underdog. Just before the ending of the match Damian Priest will cash in his briefcase making the match a triple threat. Similar to when Rollins cashed in on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar nine years prior. CM Punk will get involved from the announcement table costing Drew McIntyre the title, setting up a feud for the two of them for Summerslam. Damien Priest will be successful in his cash in leaving WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE Undisputed Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes finally has the chance to finish his story and capture the Universal Championship. He came up short last against Reigns due to interference from the bloodline but he was able to win the royal rumber and earned a rematch. We have scene Reigns vs Rhodes a year prior which is why we are predicting that this match will be under bloodline rules. This stipulation allows Reigns and Rhodes more freedom in the ring. This will not be a regular match, two will be allowed to use weapons and beat each other senceless. Reigns will have a cocky attitude the whole time because the bloodline would have won the night before, but Rhodes will continue to fight hard. We are predicting Rhodes will fight off the blood line and dethrone Roman Reigns as the Universal Championship.
