WarioWare, Inc.Review

Nintendo has released a Gameboy Advanced virtual console on the Switch recently. There are a handful of titles, but the one that is going to be reviewed today is WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames.

WarioWare was developed by Nintendo and Nintendo Research & Development 1 and was released on the Gameboy Advanced on March 21, 2003. This fast-paced rhythm puzzle game follows the greedy Wario who in search of quick cash creates his own video game company called Wario Ware. Throughout the story Wario encounters different characters who have a story and theme to that stage. There are 9 stages that contain a total of 213 microgames. Each stage is filled with multiple different microgames that the player must beat. These games are simple tasks such as jump, dodge, grab. etc. When the player completes the microgame a new one appears and so on until the player reaches the boss microgame. After completing the boss microgame the stage is complete, and you must travel up the path completing each stage.

Microgames are not the only thing that makes this game fun. There is great music, fun characters, and wacky art styles that make this game so unique. The music behind this game is exceptional. Each stage has its own theme with a song to go with it. Each song is fun to listen to and as the player goes deeper into the stage the music speeds up. With the music getting faster and faster it forces the player to be quicker on their toes. WarioWare Inc. is a great game to play to get your heart racing, that is for sure.

Warioware Inc. is a fun game to sit back and complete some microgames. The story mode is quite short, but these games offer replay ability. There is a lot of postgame content that will keep the player occupied for longer than the length of the story. There is challenge mode where the player can go back through harder difficulties, which speeds up the microgames as well as multiplayer challenge mode.

WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgames gameplay

Warioware Inc.: Mega Microgames is available for the Gameboy Advance and now on the Nintendo Switch through the online expansion pass. If you are looking for a fun game to play to waste a few minutes WarioWare, inc.: Mega Microgames is great for that because of the size of these games.

Overall Score: 8/10
