Legend of Zelda: Child Timeline

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time was released in 1998 and created a timeline branch in the Zelda World. In the ocarina of time link travels back and forth in time creating an alternate future for Hyrule. This article will go into the events of ocarina of time and the events that follow child link. 

Ocarina of Time

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released on November 21, 1998, for the Nintendo 64. In this adventure link must collect three spiritual stones to obtain the master sword. When link enters the temple of time and pulls the master sword out, he is put in a slumber for 7 years allowing Ganondorf to access the chamber of the sages and take over Hyrule. When link awakens from his slumber, he is an adult and must awaken the six sages by defeating the temples they are trapped in and defeat Ganondorf. After collecting the sage medallions Link can defeat Ganon and with the power of the sages' lock Ganondorf away in the chamber. 

After link defeats Ganondorf as an adult he returns to his time seven years prior and warns Zelda of the terror he is plotting. Ganondorf is arrested in the child timeline and link has saved the land of Hyrule once again. Link returns the master sword to its pedestal in the temple of time sealing it away. Navi and Link go their separate ways. 

Majora’s Mask

The legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was released on April 27, 2000, and is a direct sequel to the Ocarina of time. After stopping Ganondorf’s plot to take over child link leaves Hyrule in search for his lost friend Navi. While traveling through the lost woods he runs into a skull kid wearing the evil Majora’s mask. Link loses his horse and ocarina to the skull kid then is turned into a Deku scrub. Link must recover the Mask and return it to the Happy Mask Salesmen within three days. After the three days are up the moon will crash into the land of termina.  

Link must travel to the swamp, mountains, ocean, and canyon and free the giants by defeating the Masked bosses in each temple. After Link frees each giant, he plays the Oath to Order with the ocarina to prevent the moon from crashing into Termina. Link heads into the moon where he fights Majora’s and defeats the evil that lies within the mask. With land of termina saved Young Link leaves Termina and continues his journey in search for Navi. 

Twilight Princess

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was released on November 16, 2006, for the GameCube and was ported over to the Nintendo Wii. This Zelda title takes place about a hundred years after Majora’s Mask in land of Hyrule that Link saved in the Ocarina of time. Following Ganondorf’s arrest in Ocarina of time he is sentenced to death. His power is transferred to Zant, the Twilight Princess, who seeks power and the thrown. With Ganondorf’s power Zant can take over the twilight Realm as well as Hyrule. With Zant’s New power he curses link and turns him into a wolf forcing him to team up with Midna, the Twilight Princess.  

Link and Midna travel together finding the three fused shadows that are hidden within three temples in Hyrule. The fused shadows corrupt the area and Link must stop the corruption in the forest temple, Goron Mines, and Lakebed Temple. After obtaining the fused shadows link must recover the broken pieces of the mirror of twilight to enter the Twilight Realm. The Mirror shards are in the Dessert, Snowpeak Ruins, Temple of Time, and the City in the Sky. When link finally enters the Twilight realm and faces off against Zant he learns that Ganondorf was using Zant as a puppet to return to Hyrule.  

When Link returns to the land of Hyrule Ganondorf is controlled and is waiting in Hyrule Castle. Link defeats Ganon in the castle and defeats Gannondorf in a sword duel in Hyrule field.
